To reduce the number of deaths and severity of injuries caused by fires and to reduce the number of fires and the extent of propety damage that result from fires, while also reducing other injuries in the home.

We hope to provide school children with sufficient information for them to be able to respond promptly and effectively when confronted by fire and to proactively prevent fires from occurring.
Using firefighters to teach key fire safety behaviors to school children is an excellent way for children to be motivated into learning and retaining these behaviors for use when necessary. Six key fire safety behaviors have been identified for use during public education programs.
