The Goldsboro Fire Department is proactive in fire education and prevention efforts. Our goal is to partner with local non-profits and community partners to make our city safer. Here is a list of our programs:

School Visits/School Inspections and Fire Drills
Schools are inspected every year and fire drills are performed periodically during the school year. The Fire Safety House and Fire Company are available for school visits. The Support Service Chief schedules all school visits by appointment at (919) 580-4261.
The Fire Safety House Program
This program consists of teaching children basic life safety skills. The Safety House gives children the opportunity to crawl out of a smoke-filled structure in a safe and controlled environment. Children also learn to be safe around stoves, heating devices and microwave ovens. The Fire Safety House presents fire safety in a fun and engaging environment. This program is conducted when requested by Fire Department Personnel.
Child Passenger Seat Program
To help accomplish the department purpose of saving lives, the Goldsboro Fire Department offers a Child Seat Program to hlep adults install their own child passenger seats properly. The program also re-enforces teh importance of seat belt law compliance. The program is offered at Goldsboro Station Two on Royall Ave. It's held on Wednesdays from 3:00 - 6:00pm. For other weekdays, please call (919) 580-4262 to set up an appointment.
After the Fire Program
The purpose of this brochur is to provide our citizens with useful information to aid in the adjustment and recovery period after a fire has occurred. If you need additional assistance, please contact the Fire Department during normal business hours at (919) 580-4262.
